Decades after Vassilenas’ menu degustation was introduced, it remains the trademark of the restaurant. The renowned Greek artist Nikos Hadjikyriakos Ghikas, in a glowing tribute to Giorgos Vassilenas in 1993, wrote: “Giorgos, after his father, still has the best restaurant in Attica”, while in 2010 the American jazz singer Dee Dee Bridgewater, describes her gastronomy experience with a two-page ode to Vassilenas.
In the following decades, Greek cuisine takes centerstage in Vassilenas’ menu. Over the years, the techniques evolve, new materials that enrich traditional recipes are added, with the same objective: the creation of an effortless, enhanced Greek cuisine.
Around the same time, pioneering Greek winemakers begin to gingerly venture into modern winemaking and the exploitation and promotion of the Greek vineyard.
We recommend that the second menu is paired with the wonderful Greek varieties of Moschofilero, Assyrtiko and Agiorgitiko, offered at a 30% discount.
